Healthy No-Bake Granola

Eating healthy is very important when trying to conceive and during pregnancy.

Since our world is filled with sugary snacks and processed foods, it is beneficial to learn how to make our own healthy versions of some of the foods that we enjoy eating.

If you’re like me, you’re super busy and you don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen making snacks, so instead you opt to eat foods that are quick and easy to make.

This recipe is healthy, quick, and easy and it only takes 10 min to prepare, then you just pop it into the fridge.

Ingredients:

1 cup nut butter or sunflower seed butter

1/2 cup honey or agave

2 cups old fashioned oats

1/2 cup unrefined coconut oil

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (you can opt for semi-sweet)

Optional – Nuts, dried berries, coconut flakes, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, or raisins.

Directions

  1. In a sauce pan on medium heat, melt coconut oil, add nut butter and honey. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
  2. Remove the mixture from the stove and add oats, chocolate chips, and other ingredients.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 9- by 13-inch baking dish. Spread into an even layer, sprinkle the top with mini chocolate chips, and firmly press down with a spatula, refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until firm. Slice it into squares or bars and remove them from the pan.
  4. Enjoy!
  5. Keep the granola bars stored in the refrigerator, either in an airtight container with wax paper separating the layers, or individually wrapped in plastic wrap.
